SavvyWise
AI-assisted tax research built specifically for Australian accounting firms.
About
SavvyWise is on a mission to reduce the compliance burden at scale — giving accountants back the time they spend on research and helping them bill more of it. Built by accountants, for accountants, the platform covers Australian federal tax, state taxes, Fair Work, and audit standards, and doubles as a general-purpose AI so firms don't need separate subscriptions. SavvyWise is currently running an equity crowdfunding campaign open to new shareholders.
Co-Founder: Drew Pflaum, CPA
A CPA-qualified accountant and holder of a Public Practice Certificate, Drew worked at Munro's — a top 2% ranked Australian accounting firm and number one in Perth — before co-founding SavvyWise. His expertise spans strategic business advice, income tax minimisation, and cryptocurrency tax, and he is a Mindshop Accredited Advisor. Drew's conviction is simple: by reducing the compliance burden on businesses, accountants free up their clients to focus on what they do best. He brings that same thinking to SavvyWise — building tools that help accountants save time, reduce stress, and deliver better advice.
Co-Founder: Agastya Patel
A UWA-trained software engineer and the technical architect behind SavvyWise's platform, Agastya oversees all infrastructure, AI capabilities, and backend development. Before co-founding SavvyWise, he worked across AI workflow management, cloud infrastructure for AI operations, and desktop application development. He brings a mentality of constant learning and high professional standards — growing from developer to technical leader and building the foundation that SavvyWise's platform runs on today.
The Problem They're Solving
General-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT aren't built for the precision and accountability that tax research demands — they hallucinate, lack authoritative sourcing, and can't be trusted in a compliance environment. Meanwhile, tax research is eating unbillable hours across accounting firms every day. SavvyWise solves both problems with a purpose-built platform that delivers fast, referenced, deterministic answers grounded in Australian tax law.
What They Do
Tax research — AI-assisted research across federal income tax, CGT, GST, FBT, superannuation, payroll tax, transfer duty, land tax, Fair Work, and audit standards, with authoritative source citations and expert commentary
Firm knowledge — firms embed their own internal materials so staff can search proprietary knowledge in plain English
Document mode & skills — generates standalone memos, letters, remission requests, and private ruling applications
The Vault — central file storage with client folders, granular permissions, and team collaboration tools
Unlimited users — flat-rate firm subscription with no per-user charges
