Venture UWA connects students with the future of work - bridging academia and the real world through hackathons, industry networking, an internship program, and a startup incubator. We’re building the 2026 committee and would love to have you on the team.

Open roles (time commitment):

  • Secretary - meetings, documentation, Guild reporting

  • Marketing & Content Officer - social, campaigns, creative  

  • Event Coordinator - plan & run events

  • Program Coordinator - support programs & delivery

  • Partnership Communications Officer - campus engagement & outreach

  • Ordinary Committee Member - support across teams


  1. Secretary: 

The Secretary ensures smooth communication, accurate documentation, and effective coordination across the committee.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate correspondence and meeting agendas

  • Prepare notices, minutes, and reports

  • Follow up on committee resolutions and actions

  • Liaise with the Guild’s General Secretary

Commitment: 5–8 hours/week


2. Marketing & Content Officers

Marketing & Content Officers drive Venture UWA’s storytelling, brand visibility, and audience engagement across digital and on-campus channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns with the Head of Marketing

  • Create promotional content and visuals for social media and events

  • Contribute to marketing campaigns with your own skillset

  • Develop skills across newsletter writing, content creation and more

  • Commitment: 5–8 hours/week


3. Event Coordinator:

Event Coordinators are the execution force behind Venture UWA’s events, ensuring each initiative is well-organised, impactful, and aligned with the organisation’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate the events with the rest of the committee

  • Strategise how we can offer events across skills that are in demand

  • Communicate with venues and other departments across collaborations

  • Commitment: 5–8 hours/week


4. Program Coordinator Officers

Program Coordinators help design, manage, and deliver Venture UWA’s signature programs (e.g., workshops, incubators, mentorship initiatives).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the student start-ups through the incubator program

  • Be involved in the student start-up ecosystem through helping coordinate the incubator program with the Programs Manager

  • Organise consistent ongoing programs

  • Commitment: 5–8 hours/week


5. Partnership Communications Officer: 

The Communications Officer is the key student liaison with industry, working directly with partners interested in collaborating with Venture and providing a student perspective on which partnerships will deliver the most value.

Responsibilities:

  • Get to attend meetings with the industry that wants to work on hackathons or events with us

  • Develop negotiating, stakeholder engagement and coordinating skills

  • Facilitate communications with the partners we are working with

  • Coordinate with event stakeholders

  • Commitment: 5–8 hours/week


6. Ordinary Committee Members: 

As an OCM, you will contribute ideas, support events and drive the team’s impact forward. The role is flexible and ideal for someone who wants to try different areas within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support event, marketing, and community activities

  • Join sub-teams for events or programs

  • Provide feedback and ideas to strengthen the organisation

  • Commitment: 2–5 hours/week
