R U OK? Day is a national reminder that every day is the right day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support the people in our lives who might be struggling.
At Venture UWA, we believe innovation and entrepreneurship are not just about building ideas — they’re about building strong, supportive communities where students can thrive both personally and professionally.
Why it matters
University life can be exciting, fast-paced, and full of opportunities, but it can also bring moments of stress, uncertainty, and self-doubt. Asking a simple question and creating space for open, honest conversations can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing.
By checking in with our peers, colleagues, and friends, we help create a culture where people feel safe to share what they’re going through and know that they’re not alone.
How you can take part
Start the conversation: Take a moment to ask someone, “Are you OK?” and really listen to their response.
Be present: Give your time and attention without distraction.
Offer support: Encourage them to take action that feels right for them, whether it’s talking to a friend, mentor, or professional.
Follow up: Keep the conversation going, not just today but every day.
Support services
If you or someone you know needs extra support, there are people and services ready to help:
