Western Australia’s Most Collaborative Innovation Program Challenge Yourself. Change the World.
The Joondalup Innovation Challenge is open to all UWA & Venture UWA students. This exclusive hybrid program takes you on a fast-paced, hands-on learning journey where you’ll explore innovation, strengthen professional skills, and discover your inner entrepreneur.
Over 1.5 action-packed weeks, you’ll work with students from six leading WA institutes to tackle real-world challenges, build your confidence, and get ready for the future of work.
What You’ll Do
Attend TEDx-style summits (both in-person and online) featuring expert speakers and industry leaders
Work with a business mentor to solve a real-world problem
Collaborate in a team to develop and submit a video pitch
Create a video pitch of your idea - and even present it live, if you’re shortlisted!
Connect with students from across disciplines and institutions
Be in the running to win exciting prizes

This program is supported by the City of Joondalup, Study Perth and includes participation from: University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, North Metro TAFE, Australian Institute of Workplace Training, and NIT Australia.

How It Works
This hybrid challenge spans 1.5 weeks of virtual and in-person activities. You’ll participate in three key summits, work with your team between events, and be supported by experienced facilitators, mentors, and guest speakers.
You must commit to attending all three summits and actively engaging with your team throughout the challenge. Communication and collaboration outside of formal sessions are essential.

Five finalist teams will pitch live to a panel of judges
Prizes are awarded to the top three teams
