Registering a business name process:
First, you need to check the availability of the name you want to use by searching the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) database. The name you choose must be unique and not too similar to existing business names.
Once you have chosen a name and confirmed its availability, you can register it with ASIC. This can be done online, by mail or in person at an ASIC Connect office. You will need to provide details about your business, including the name, the type of business, and the names of the directors.
You will also need to pay a fee to register your business name. The fee varies depending on the length of time for which you want to register your business name (1 year or 3 years)
After the registration process is complete, you will receive a certificate of registration.
It's important to note that registering a business name does not give you exclusive rights to use that name, and others may still be able to use it, depending on their type of business and their geographic location.
